MICHIGAN

One of our Michigan IBRA families has a 20-year-old daughter that is battling cancer. Stephanie has undergone two surgeries in less than one year. The cancer has spread to her lungs, diaphram, central sternum, outer chest wall, and is attached to her heart. Surgery at this point is not possible. She underwent a second round of chemo in hopes to shrink or stop the growth of the cancer; however, this was not successful. The doctors stopped the chemo and began experimental antibody therapy. As of the latest report, they had to stop this as well due to complications. Please keep Stephanie and her family in your prayers.

The Main Junction Restaurant in Evart, Michigan is having a Rodeo as well as a Benefit Auction for Stephanie on Saturday, May 13, 2006. One-half of the profits from the Rodeo and all of the money from the auction will go to help cover expenses not covered by insurance.

Would you be willing to help out by donating any item or service for this auction? If you are able to donate, please contace Mary Gilde at gildefarms@ruraltec.net.

Stephanie's family have been very instrumental in the Michigan IBRA. They have hosted several shows at their arena and have been very dedicated sponsors. This is one small way that we can say "thank you" and let them know that we care. Please consider making a donation to this worthy cause. Your help will be greatly appreciated.

The Benefit Auction and Rodeo was held this past Saturday, May 13. The weather didn?t exactly cooperate. It was cold and spitting rain the entire day, so the crowd was thin. But that didn?t stop the generosity and enthusiasm of the people who were there. It was great! The silent auction was held during the course of the day, ending shortly after the rodeo finished. We had a live auction of a few of the larger items during intermission. There were some great things donated for the live auction. They had a two-year-old registered Quarter Horse, two stallion breedings, and some nice art work to mention a few things. Both auctions combined brought in just under $4,500. Thank you very much to everyone who donated. This will be very beneficial to the family. On a sadder note, Stephanie?s cancer has not responded well to the treatments the doctors have been trying. Please continue to keep Stephanie and her family in your prayers.

Thank you to all who are praying for us and have sent donations for the benefit rodeo and auction. When all was said and done (Auction, Rodeo, Cash donations and 1/2 proceeds from the Main Junction) we received approximately $8500. We plan to use this money to look into some other experimental treatment and expenses. I would also like to give a big thank you and hug to Mary and Randy Gilde, your help and support is so greatly appreciated. Wink

We were there and even though it rained and we were soaked it felt good to be there helping this family in this small way. We even ended up with both breedings, and this wasn't something we had even thought of. I'm so glad that so much was brought in to help the family. We are keeping Stephanie and her family in our thoughts and prayers.
